Being an artist is not a title, but a way of living
This article seeks to move beyond institutional and market-driven definitions, delving into the roots of human creativity. Art is presented not as a product, but as a tool for thinking and being — a possibility that lies within all of us, even if history chooses to overlook it.
It is the result of reflection on the intertwined threads of art, power, language, and institutions — an invitation to reconsider what we call an “artist.”

هنرمند بودن، نه یک عنوان که شیوهای از زیستن است
در این مقاله، سعی شده تا با عبور از تعاریف نهادی و بازاری، به ریشههای آفرینش انسانی پرداخته شود. هنر را نه محصول، بلکه ابزاری برای اندیشیدن و بودن معرفی می شود؛ امکانی که در همهی ما نهفته است، حتی اگر تاریخ آن را نادیده بگیرد. این نوشته حاصل تأمل در تاروپود هنر، قدرت، زبان و نهادهاست. دعوتی است به بازنگری آنچه «هنرمند» نامیده می شود.

In the art special issue of "Payam-e Ma", Ms. Sadef Sardari published an interview with Afateh Khas, Farzaneh Soleimani, and myself. Part of this conversation was an opportunity to share a summary of my concerns, perspective, and artistic journey. Engaging with this text will be a companionship with my viewpoint. I am eager to share these artistic explorations with you.
In the boundless expanse of creation, my artistic work is an attempt to understand myself and connect with the surrounding world. It is a quest in which I explore profound concepts such as life, death, and infinity. I have chosen performance art for its directness and immediacy, as I see human presence as an unmediated language for expressing the mysteries of human existence.
I draw the materials and elements for my work from my living environment, and the four fundamental elements of nature are constant companions in my artistic creation. My birthplace, Lorestan, renowned as the nature capital of Iran, has had the deepest influence on my artistic perspective. Nature has been not just a setting, but a companion and source of inspiration for my work.
Collaboration and collective creation with diverse artists, from students to art groups, has always been a precious gift to me. These partnerships create a vibrant and dynamic space where ideas flow with collective energy, fostering a renewed understanding of both myself and the very concept of artistic creation. I have gathered a treasure of experience from every collaboration.
در ویژهنامهٔ هنری "پیام ما"، خانم صدف سرداری گفتوگویی را با عاطفه خاص، فرزانه سلیمانی و من منتشر کردند. بخشی از این گفتوگو فرصتی بود تا خلاصهای از دغدغهها، نگاه و مسیر هنری خود را به اشتراک بگذارم. درنگی در این نوشته، همنشینی با دیدگاه من خواهد بود. مشتاقم که این جستجوهای هنری را با شما سهیم شوم.
در گستره بیکران آفرینش، آثار هنری من تلاشی است برای درک خود و پیوند با جهان پیرامون. جستجویی که در آن مفاهیم ژرفی چون زندگی، مرگ و بیکرانگی را میکاوم. هنر اجرا را به سبب صراحت و بیواسطگیاش برگزیدهام، چرا که تن را زبانی بیواسطه برای بیان رازهای وجود آدمی میدانم.
مواد و عناصر آثارم را از محیط زندگی خود برمیگیرم و چهار عنصر بنیادین طبیعت، همراهان همیشگی آفرینش هنری من هستند. زادگاهم لرستان، که به پایتخت طبیعت ایران نامآور است، عمیقترین تأثیر را بر نگرش هنری من نهاده و طبیعت نه فقط بستر که همراه و منبع الهام کارهایم بوده است.
همکاری و ساختوساز جمعی با هنرمندان گوناگون، از هنرجویان تا گروههای هنری، همواره برایم موهبتی ارزشمند بوده است. این مشارکتها بستری زنده و پویا میآفریند که در آن ایدهها با نیروی جمعی به جریان میافتند و شناختی تازه از خود و مفهوم آفرینش هنری پدید میآید. از هر همکاری، گنجینهای از تجربه اندوختهام.
